Robert Mutch (staff)

Here I am on Hogback Mtn. after a morning of photographing, just outside of Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Hello there! I am the one putting this Web site together.

About Me

I grew up in rural Montana, Alaska, and Idaho and graduated from Unalaska High School (that's in the middle of the Aleutian Island chain) in 1985.

I attended the University of Alaska Anchorage until joining the U.S. Navy as a Sonar Technician. After Receiving my honorable discharge from the navy I returned to school and graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in Anthropology. While finishing my B.A. I worked on Forest Service wild land fire crews around the western United States and after receiving my degree in Anthropology went to work for the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and Park Service as an Archaeological Technician.

In 2004, I began my own nature photography business (www.robmutch.com) and joined the CLI as Executive Director in 2005.

I have several Crater Lake NP photo galleries online at Webshots:  http://community.webshots.com/user/robmutch

My computer background consists of me fiddling around with TRS-80s (we called them trash-80s...chuckle), moving on to an Apple IIe, an Apple IIc, and then these new machines.

I'v read several books on Information Architecture (yes, the Polar Bear book), usability (Krug's Don't Make Me Think! and Jacob Nielsen's writings), web design (graphics) and I'v tried to sort the whole thing out and implement it here with this website.
