A well-traveled highway in our region will soon have a new name.
Highway 62, the Crater Lake Highway, which runs from Medford to near Klamath Falls will be renamed Friday in a special dedication ceremony as Veterans Memorial Highway.
Veterans say that the renaming of the highway is to honor all veterans, not only in southern Oregon, but also across the country and the world.
Herbert Robb is Chairman of the Allied Veterans Council. “Even though they’re different in name, they wear different uniforms, they have different rituals, they’re all veterans and they are all here for a common cause, the respect and honor of all veterans.”
The dedication ceremony will be held Friday October 20th at 1:30 p.m. sharp at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City.
An F-15 flyover as well as music from local student groups will help dedicate the Veterans Memorial Highway.
