People who worked at Crater Lake National Park are being invited
to attend a first-ever Crater Lake Alumni Reunion in August.
"Alumni" include people who are or were employees of the
National Park Service or concessionaire along with others who
have been volunteers, contractors or members of the Friends of
Crater Lake.
A day-long gathering at the park is planned Aug. 26, a day after
park rededication ceremonies. The reunion will feature tours,
seminars, a catered luncheon and times to visit and reminisce.
The reunion is part of summer-long Centennial celebration.
Crater Lake was named a national park on May 22, 1902, by
President Theodore Roosevelt.
Friends member Greg Reddell, who is helping to organize the
reunion, said registrations are wanted by June 15. People are
also urged to provide Reddell with the names and addresses of
Crater Lake alumni who might be interested in attending.
The Friends is gathering reminiscences for a reunion booklet.
Memories and experiences should be sent by July 1 to Greg
Reddell, P.O. Box 1744, Klamath Falls, OR 97601, or e-mailed to
him at greddell@cvc.net, or phone882-6257 for more information.
Cost for the reunion activities is $30, which includes a reunion
packet and luncheon, $15 for the reunion packet only, or for the
luncheon only. Guests are welcome.
