People planning on taking a quick dip in the waters of Crater Lake should be prepared to be chilly. Based on readings from a buoy in the lake, the temperature is 57.7 degrees.

Hikers at Crater Lake National Park will find more trails open, including the Mount Scott, Cleetwood Cove, Castle Crest Wildflower Garden, Pinnacles, Sun Notch and Lady of the Woods trails. The trail up Garfield Peak is open three-quarters of the distance.

The Watchman trail remains closed because of hazardous conditions, while the Annie Creek loop trail is closed indefinitely because two bridges need repairs.
