October 7, 2008

People visiting Crater Lake National Park should be prepared for winter, and reduced services. Closed facilities include the Annie Creek Restaurant and Gift Shop, Rim Visitor Center, Mazama and Lost Creek campgrounds, and the Mazama Motor Inn.

Sunday is the closing night for the Crater Lake Lodge while gasoline and other services will end Monday — the same date the nearby Mazama Village Store will close for the season. The Sinnott Memorial Overlook will remain open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, weather permitting, through Oct. 31.

Open through the winter are the Steel Information Center at park headquarters and the Rim Village Café and Gift Shop.
