Kulongoski, Walden in town for Oregon quarter celebration

Gov. Ted Kulongoski will be in Klamath Falls for a two-day visit
starting Wednesday for a local celebration of the release of the
Oregon quarter featuring Crater Lake and the dedication of the
Crater Lake Parkway.
Kulongoski will be at Crater Lake National Park Wednesday for a
private tour in the morning and will do a public signing of a
proclamation of the Oregon quarter at 4 p.m. at Phantom Ship
Overlook.
This will be the second quarter launch party - an earlier one
was held in Portland in June.
The governor will be in Klamath Falls 11 a.m. Thursday for a
celebration and dedication of the Crater Lake Parkway, formerly
called the Alameda Bypass, and quarter at Veterans Park.
Rep.
Greg Walden, who is in Klamath County Thursday and Friday, will
also speak at the event.
That event is open to the public and balloons and mock wooden
quarters will be given to children. Ice cream will be given out
to everyone.
He'll leave Thursday afternoon to attend a fund-raiser for a
local foodbank in Medford. Kulongoski was last in Klamath County
on business in July to pitch his new education plan.
