Florence Hunsaker, 85, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Sunday (Jan. 4, 1998) in Klamath Falls, where she was living. The memorial service was held in Klamath Falls with interment in Myrtle Creek.

She was born Florence Hess on July 12, 1912, in Athol, Idaho.

Mrs. Hunsaker graduated from Ashland High School and in 1931 received her teaching certificate from Southern Oregon Normal School.
 

In 1930, she married Raymond Hunsaker, who preceded her in death.

They both taught in Jacksonville, Medford, Coos Bay and Coquille, and spent summers as park rangers at Crater Lake National Park.

In 1960, the Hunsakers moved to Klamath Falls where she taught in the Klamath Falls city schools from 1966 to 1981.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, PEO Sisterhood, Lake of the Woods Homeowners Association, and an honorary member of Alpha Delta Kappa teaching honorary.

Survivors include four daughters, Alice Smith, Redmond, Nancy Larrabee, Danville, Calif., Diana Bryant, Fort Lewis, Wash., and Helen Ann Meyer, Yakima, Wash.; a brother, Parker Hess, Ashland; a sister, Eleanor Piche, Eugene; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
