Park
publications on sale at Great Basin Visitor Center
Herald and News
Klamath Falls, Oregon
August 02, 2004
The Crater Lake Natural History Association has opened an outlet
for its various publications in the Great Basin Visitor Center
at 507 Main St. in Klamath Falls.
The park's history association works with park staff to help
produce and sell publications that provide information about the
park. Proceeds from history association sales are returned to
the park. At the park, the history association operates sales
outlets at the Munson Valley (park headquarters) visitor contact
station and, during the summer, at the Rim Village Visitor
Center.
The history association provides materials about both Crater
Lake National Park and Oregon Caves National Monument.
The
bookstores at both parks sell educational books and materials
about the cultural and natural resources of both parks. Proceeds
from the sales benefit both parks. At Crater Lake National Park,
the association funds the park newspaper, research projects, and
other special requests from both parks.
At the Great Basin Visitors Association welcome center, the
Crater Lake Natural History Association book sales area will
include a selection of field guides, hiking and backpacking
guides, cultural and natural history books, children's nature
books, maps, posters, and other educational materials relating
to the Great Basin, Klamath Falls area, Crater Lake National
Park, and Oregon Caves National Monument.
Memberships in the Crater Lake Natural History Association
entitle members to receive a newsletter, participate in a yearly
field trip and receive a 15 percent discount at any outlet.
