Joseph Norton Dolph

Joseph Dolph (1835-1897) was an Oregon Republican Senator (1883-1895) who introduced several bills for National Park status of Crater Lake, however, they were thwarted by special interests, in the 1870s and 1880s. He then switched tactics and began trying to attain state park status for Crater Lake and it was then that William Steel began to strongly oppose his efforts.
