would be irretrievably lost. There would
also be an irretrievable and irreversible
commitment of resources in terms of
funds expended on both labor and
construction materials. Because it takes so
long for soils to form, the loss of soils due
to development and visitor use in localized
areas would be an irreversible
commitment of resources.
