Typed Introduction: We, the
undersigned citizens of Medford and Vicinity, hereby agree
to unite with an organization to be affected in the parlor
of the Hotel Nash this, Wednesday evening, Sept. 18th, 1895,
for the purpose of collecting and disseminating information
relating to the mountain scenery of Southern Oregon, and
especially Crater Lake.

1. Dr. E.B. Pickel - Ejijah Barton, had an
office at Main & Central, Mayor 1904-1905, died 1932.

14. D.H. Miller - Charter member of First
Christian Church, Medford, Oregon; A D.H. Miller is listed
in the "Index to Jackson County, Oregon Juror List, 1854 -
1899"
18. I.A. Webb - Isaac, born 1853 Kentucky,
family was founder of Christian Church 1884, Medford
Furniture and Hardware, also undertaker. Sold store in 1901
and move to Butte Creek homestead.
19. C.I. Hutchinson - partner in
department store.
22. J. Beek Jr. - born on May 16, 1866 in
Cowlitz Co., Washington and died on January 24, 1953 in
Seattle, King Co., Washington. He is buried in the Acacia
Memorial Park, Seattle, King Co., Washington.)
23. Mrs. John Beek - Marjorie Josephine
Merriman was born on June 4, 1871 in Manzanita Pct. (now
Medford), Jackson Co., Oregon. She died on January 6, 1940
in Seattle, King Co., Washington. She is buried in the
Acacia Memorial Park, Seattle, King Co., Washington. Married
to John Beek on December 21, 1892 in Medford, Jackson Co.,
Oregon. Two children: Helen Merriman Beek (1904-1975) and
John J. Beek (1906-1992). Mrs. Beek came from a large family
with many siblings.
24. Horace Nicholson - 1893 was U.S.
Marshall for Medford, owner of Hardware business. Involved
in road development over the Siskiyous.
26. E.P. Geary - doctor; Was first "mayor"
that was elected in 1888, but was the city board "temporary
chairman" in 1885. Thee is dispute over first mayor being
Geary or Haskin, depending on terminology and how city
charter was first set up. Local history likes to say that
you were mayor if you had a big enough place to have the
meetings and that was druggist Haskins for many years.
34. J.A. Whitman - referred to as
"Captain", one of oldest homes in Medford still in use that
era.
