Date Received: Jan 01, 1998

Principal Investigator: Michael Grubensky, University of New Mexico, Dept. Earth and Planetary Science, Albuquerque, NM

Park-assigned Study Id. # CRLA1992ADNX

Permit Expiration Date: Jan 01, 1998

Permit Start Date: Jan 01, 1998

Study Starting Date: Jan 01, 1992

Study Ending Date: Jan 01, 1993

Study Status: Completed

Activity Type: Other

Subject/Discipline: Geology / General

Objectives: Determine the thermal characteristics of a broad range of breccia types exposed on young volcanoes. End product should be a new, field-based classification scheme for volcanic breccias. Project will make use of rock-magnetism studies and geometric analysis of fragments from specific deposits in the Crater Lake area as well as other sites in the Cascades, Rocky Mountains, and New Zealand.
