Description

See where a mountain has been built and torn apart, and is now rebuilding before our eyes. Witness the eruption in a second-by-second photo sequence.

Thom Corcoran is a public affairs specialist with the U.S. Forest Service in Portland, Oregon. A graduate of California State University, San Francisco, in inter-disciplinary education, he did graduate study in environmental planning at California State University, Chico. Thom worked closely with geologists, the media, and emergency agencies during eruptions of Mount St. Helens. In addition, he has been involved in Mount St. Helens land-use plans and the development of the interpretive/naturalist program.
