Objectives: The objective is to complete a standard soil survey of Crater Lake National Park. This will include an inventory of the soil resources and associated plant communities. A written report including soil descriptions, mapping unit descriptions, physical and chemical properties of the soils, standard interpretations, and hard copy maps of the soils will be provided. The information will also be provided in an electronic format which will include the digitized soil maps and the associated tabular data. This will all be completed in accordance with the Interagency Agreement between the National Park Service and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Findings and Status:  Approximate 35,000 acres were mapped during the 1999 field season. The data is currently being analyzed, database completed, and interpretations generated. The mapping that was completed is also being compiled for digitizing.
